Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. –Ephesians 6:12

At 2:00 here is an example of Louis Armstrong scatting at the end of a song. I believe that speaking in tongues is a lot like scatting while praying, and then Spirit-filled tongues eventually will come to fruition, if this is done in concentrated, contemplative Pentecostal and charismatic worship.

If I was in any way wrong, in the way that I taught how to receive Spirit baptism with speaking in tongues, then Carl Brumback’s What Meaneth This? (Gospel Publishing House, 1947) should make up for my deficiency. This was and probably still is, the authoritative book published by Assemblies of God, about the baptism in the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues. Its 352 pages.

We do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express. –Romans 8:26 (GNT)

THAYER’S AND STRONG’S ON THE GREEK WORD EKSTASIS
THAYER’S
1. any casting down of a thing from its proper place or state, displacement.
2. a throwing of the mind out of its normal state, alienation of mind, whether such as makes a lunatic or that of a man who by some sudden emotion is transported as it were out of himself, so that in this rapt condition, although he is awake, his mind is drawn off from all surrounding objects and wholly fixed on things divine that he sees nothing but the forms and images lying within, and thinks that he perceives with his bodily eyes and ears realities shown him by God.
3. amazement, the state of one who, either owing to the importance or the novelty of an event, is thrown into a state of blended fear and wonderment.
STRONG’S
From G1839; a displacement of the mind, that is, bewilderment, “ecstasy”: – + be amazed, amazement, astonishment, trance.

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the Gospel I preached is not of human origin.I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. –Galatians 1:11-12
When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. –Matthew 6:5-6
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. –1 Corinthians 2:14

Linda Mercadante, Belief Without Borders: Inside the Minds of the Spiritual But Not Religious.
How is this testimony to be distinguished from the presumption of a natural mind? It is certain, one who was never convinced of sin, is always ready to flatter himself, and to think of himself, especially in spiritual things, more highly than he ought to think. And hence, it is in no wise strange, if one who is vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, when he hears of this privilege of true Christians, among whom he undoubtedly ranks himself, should soon work himself up into a persuasion that he is already possessed thereof. Such instances now abound in the world, and have abounded in all ages. How then may the real testimony of the Spirit with our spirit, be distinguished from this damning presumption. (“The Witness of the Spirit, I” 2.2).
This is farther explained by the parallel text, (Gal. 4:6,) “Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.” Is not this something immediate and direct, not the result of reflection or argumentation? Does not his Spirit cry, “Abba, Father,” in our hearts the moment it is given, antecedently to any reflection upon our sincerity; yea, to any reasoning whatsoever? And is not this the plain natural sense of the words, which strikes any one as soon as he hears them? All these texts then, in their most obvious meaning, describe a direct testimony of the Spirit. (“The Witness of the Spirit, II” 3.4).
