Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
–1 John 2:15-16 (KJV)–

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
–James 4:4 (KJV)–

Be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.
–Romans 12:2 (KJV)–

Lord, You’re everything I need
There’s nothing more I need
You’ve shined the light
From Heaven’s door

More and more, I worship You with tears
They’re all I have to give
To thank You for the life You gave

Jesus, You’re everything that I’ve ever wanted
The blood You shed at Calvary
Has made me clean
You’ve drawn me back to You

I would give everything
To be Yours forever
The sacrifice of love You shared
Has set me free
To sail away with You

Just believe that Jesus is real, they said
You don’t have to change your ways
Just believe that he died and rose again
You don’t have to seek God’s face, because of

God’s love, God’s love, God’s love
Don’t talk about sin, or repentance, or faith
God’s love, God’s love, God’s love
Don’t say death, Hell, or Judgment Day
God’s love, God’s love, God’s love

Preach against the holy, call them legalists
Cry out “salvation’s not by works!”
Every time you look at porn
Just tell yourself your future sins are forgiven, ’cause of

MAN THAT WAS STRONG BRYCE.
YOU’RE PREACHING ON THE RIGHT TRACK.

The principles of the doctrine of Christ…the foundation of REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS, and of FAITH TOWARD GOD, of the doctrine of BAPTISMS, and of LAYING ON OF HANDS, and of RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD, and of ETERNAL JUDGMENT.
–Hebrews 6:1-2 (KJV)–

I first heard this sermon in 2006. It is still one of my absolute favorite audio sermons to this day. Its about the ministry of Charles Finney, and the nature of true conversion, versus the easy believism message that we’re hearing in most churches today.

³ Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. ⁴ Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. ⁵ For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, ⁶ like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
