But Dearborn, Michigan stands out because it has both a large Muslim population and a high density of Muslim institutions, making everyday Muslim life highly visible and normalized. It’s not just a Muslim neighborhood—it’s a Muslim-influenced city. Dearborn is, culturally speaking, a place where Islamic identity shapes the entire city environment, not just small pockets. –J.B.
