Supernatural Theology 61: Revival Intercession That Upsets the Applecart

They went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with signs following.  –Mark 16:20 (KJV)

When Ahab saw him, he exclaimed, “So, is it really you, you troublemaker of Israel?” “I have made no trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “You and your family are the troublemakers, for you have refused to obey the commands of the Lord and have worshiped the images of Baal instead.”  –1 Kings 18:17-18 (NLT)

Backslidden Christians will be brought to repentance. A revival is nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to God. Just as in the case of a converted sinner, the first step is a deep repentance, a breaking down of heart, a getting down into the dust before God, with deep humility, and forsaking of sin. –Charles Finney

Repentance and Faith – John Wesley

The traditional Pentecostal position of Assemblies of God is the one that I accept. Feeling the presence of God resulting in tongues as outward evidence, is the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and is understood as only empowering a progressive sanctification, which is understood as a heartfelt loving obedience to the moral commandments of the Bible. This view was represented by the AG theologian Myer Pearlman, who also denied Wesleyan eradicationism (see Knowing the Doctrines of the Bible, p. 249ff; Five Views on Sanctification, p. 111).

Biblical Shunning vs The Silent Treatment

I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. –1 Corinthians 5:11 (KJV)
