CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS
in accordance with the Scriptures.
–1 Corinthians 15:3 (ESV)–
5 HE WAS PIERCED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and THE LORD HAS LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US ALL.
–Isaiah 53:5-6 (ESV)–
This is my blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many
for THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
–Matthew 26:28 (ESV)–
8 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
–Romans 5:8-9 (ESV)–
Christ, having been offered once
to BEAR THE SINS OF MANY.
–Hebrews 9:28 (ESV)–
HE HIMSELF BORE OUR SINS in his body on the tree,
that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.
By his wounds you have been healed.
–1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)–
Without the shedding of blood
there is no FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
–Hebrews 9:22 (ESV)–
CHRIST ALSO SUFFERED ONCE FOR SINS,
the righteous for the unrighteous,
that he might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh
but made alive in the Spirit.
–1 Peter 3:18 (ESV)–
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin,
so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
–2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV)–
If we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and THE BLOOD OF JESUS his Son
cleanses us from all sin.
–1 John 1:7 (ESV)–
Jesus also suffered outside the gate
in order to sanctify the people
THROUGH HIS OWN BLOOD.
–Hebrews 13:12 (ESV)–
Whom God put forward
as a propitiation by his blood,
to be RECEIVED BY FAITH.
–Romans 3:25 (ESV)–
Behold, the Lamb of God,
who takes away the sin of the world!
–John 1:29 (ESV)–
If while we were enemies we were reconciled to God
by THE DEATH OF HIS SON,
much more, now that we are reconciled,
shall we be saved by his life.
–Romans 5:10 (ESV)–
In academic circles, the study of the history of witchcraft is always marked by two camps: believers and unbelievers in the supernatural. The skeptics and unbelievers lean in the direction of Reginald Scot’s Discoverie of Witchcraft (1584), which was written as a rationalistic debunking of the supernatural aspects of witchcraft, especially the visionary dimension of “dreames,” open visions of Satan, stories about ghosts, shapeshifters, cursed nature miracles, zombies, and other things found in supernatural horror films. The charismatic, Covenanter, or pro-supernatural view was represented by King James’ book Daemonologie (1597). Dr. Reeves, in his presentation, takes sides with Scot, as is normally the case with academics, agnostics, scoffers, and secular scholars in state universities, but I still think he does a good job at historically reviewing this obscure subject. Touch not the occult! I smelled the bittersweet scent of witchcraft in the air as I reviewed this subject. You Christian seers that have the gift of discerning of spirits–you know what I’m talking about. –J.B.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
–1 Corinthians 13:4-9 (NIV)–
1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.
–1 Corinthians 14:1-3 (NIV)–
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
–Galatians 5:19-21 (NIV)–
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
–Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)–

I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon,
and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
–Revelation 16:13 (KJV)–
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into Hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into Hell.
–Matthew 5:27-30 (NIV)–

The thing that really turned me off from Kathryn was when she preached this sermon against Hell and repentance. –J.B.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
–2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (KJV)–
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. 11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
–Revelation 13:5-18 (KJV)–
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
