Fighting Through Prayer Distractions With Extol
Pure and clear, Majesty
Endlessly, turn your gaze to me
Behold, the Sun
Surrender to its will
My face a reflection
It will surely shine
Light so sweet, cover me
Truly the light is sweet
A pleasant sight it is for the eye
To behold the Sun
Omnipresent, never fading
Captivating, nowhere to hide
Energizing, fulfilling
Circling at distance
We’re all left here, showered in light
Everything is so clear
Light so sweet, cover me
Revitalization, illumination
Come energize, spiritize
Colorize, mesmerize
Sun persist, turn your gaze to me
Through the mist, turn your gaze to me
–Extol, “Behold The Sun”–
—
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image from glory to glory,
even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Why I Believe In the Resurrection of Christ
Consumed with memories that preceded today
Given a chance to bereave life that’s slipping away
Suffered through tragedy of my slow decay
Deceptive tendencies dragged my soul away
All that I know, there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of mortality
Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again
Forsaken by destiny, forsaken by my own mind
I must remove my skin to see belief in your eyes
All that I know, there was no God for me
Force that shatters all, absence of humanity
Revive all my fears
Revive wasted tears
Revive void within
Revive once again
Reach for the sky
Touch the sky
Revive a hope
For mankind
–Fear Factory, “Resurrection”–
—
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
–1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)–
1 On the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
–Luke 24:1-5 (ESV)–
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
–Romans 8:11 (ESV)–
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
–Romans 10:9 (ESV)–
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
–Romans 6:4 (ESV)–
He has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.
–Acts 17:31 (ESV)–
Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.
–James 4:8 (ESV)–
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Easy Believism vs True Bible Salvation
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
–Romans 3:23 (ESV)–
The wages of sin is death,
but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
–Romans 6:23 (ESV)–
God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
–Romans 5:8 (ESV)–
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.
–Romans 10:9 (ESV)–
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
–Romans 10:13 (ESV)–
Since we have been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
–Romans 5:1 (ESV)–
—
Repent ye, and believe the Gospel.
–Mark 1:15 (KJV)–
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God,
and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
–2 Thessalonians 1:8 (KJV)–
The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
–Titus 2:11-12 (KJV)–
The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.
–Revelation 21:8 (KJV)–
Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who have sex with men, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
–1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV)–
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
–Galatians 5:19-21 (NIV)–
By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
–Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV)–
Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
–Philippians 2:12 (KJV)–
Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.
–Matthew 10:28 (KJV)–
Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
–Hebrews 12:14 (KJV)–
Serve him without fear,
in holiness and righteousness before him,
all the days of our life.
–Luke 1:74-75 (KJV)–
I will put my laws into their mind,
and write them in their hearts.
–Hebrews 8:10 (KJV)–
If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into Hell.
–Matthew 5:29 (KJV)–
He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross,
so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness.
–1 Peter 2:24 (NIV)–
—
“Ye shall therefore be perfect, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.” And who says, ye shall not; or, at least, not till your soul is separated from the body? It is the doctrine of St. Paul, the doctrine of St. James, of St. Peter, and St. John; and no otherwise Mr. Wesley’s, than as it is the doctrine of every one who preaches the pure and the whole gospel. I tell you, as plain as I can speak, where and when I found this. I found it in the oracles of God, in the Old and New Testament; when I read them with no other view or desire but to save my own soul. But whosoever this doctrine is, I pray you, what harm is there in it? Look at it again; survey it on every side, and that with the closest attention. In one view, it is purity of intention, dedicating all the life to God. It is the giving God all our heart; it is one desire and design ruling all our tempers. It is the devoting, not a part, but all our soul, body, and substance to God. In another view, it is all the mind which was in Christ, enabling us to walk as Christ walked. It is the circumcision of the heart from all filthiness, all inward as well as outward pollution. It is a renewal of the heart in the whole image of God, the full likeness of Him that created it. In yet another, it is the loving God with all our heart, and our neighbour as ourselves. Now, take it in which of these views you please, (for there is no material difference,) and this is the whole and sole perfection, as a train of writings prove to a demonstration, which I have believed and taught for these forty years, from the year 1725 to the year 1765. –John Wesley
