Secularists frequently accuse Christians of behaving “immorally” and religion of being “evil.” But such objections bring up an interesting question: how do secular humanists or atheists define evil and morality, and by what authority do they make such statements? For the atheist or secular humanist, there is no foundation for morality besides his or her own subjective opinion. These individuals often throw around words such as evil, immoral, moral, or ethical, usually in the context of Christianity or Christian individuals. But what do they mean by these phrases? In their worldview, what makes anything immoral or wrong? Really it boils down to nothing more than their opinion. They claim that something is wrong. But who is to say that their opinion is the right one? After all, there are many different opinions on what is right and wrong. Who decides which one is right and which one is wrong? Autonomous human reason simply does not provide a sufficient foundation for morality. You need an objective standard—and that standard is God and his Word. God’s Word is the absolute authority which is the foundation for morality—Christian morality.

–Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)–
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects…
–1 Corinthians 13:6-7 (NIV)–
19 The works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies…those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
–Galatians 5:19-21 (ESV)–
11 I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or verbally abusive, a drunkard or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person. 12 For what business is it of mine to judge outsiders? Don’t you judge those who are inside? 13 But God judges outsiders. Put away the evil person from among yourselves.
–1 Corinthians 5:11-13 (HCSB)–

How strange it is that people professing Christianity can suppose, that, with a worldly spirit, worldly companions, and their lives governed by worldly maxims, they can be in the favour of God, or ever get to the kingdom of heaven! When the world gets into the church, the church becomes a painted sepulchre; its spiritual vitality becomes extinct.
