Russia claimed to be the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and so Russia really was a socialist republic. That is, communism is socialism. There is no real difference. One avowedly takes the way of terrorism and murder and anarchy, while the other seeks the same end by infiltration, propaganda, creeping socialism.
