Hey-ee hey-oo, hey-ee hey-oo
Dee dee-dee-dee-dee hey-ee dee
Into the canyon with the trail far below
Down to the pinions where the sweetwater flows
Backstring behind me in the yellowing light
Onto the meadow where we wait for the night
Mountains in shadow silver with age
Moonlight on aspens, granite and sage
Horses graze lonesome where the falls down
I roll out my blankets and I sleep on the ground
Hey-ee hey-oo, hey-ee hey-oo
Dee dee-dee-dee-dee hey-ee dee
Ride, ride, ride on through time
Far off the cities they whistle and whine
Dream like these hoofbeats, dream like this song
Dream like this lifetime
As I ride along
Hey-ee hey-oo, hey-ee hey-oo
Dee dee-dee-dee-dee hey-ee dee
Gray mists of dawning seep from the black
Listen for the belle-mere
Shiver near the campfire and wait for the sun
Red glow of morning and a new day’s begun
Hey-ee hey-oo, hey-ee hey-oo
Dee dee-dee-dee-dee hey-ee dee
Ride, ride, ride on through time
Far off the cities they whistle and whine
Green like these hoofbeats, green like this song
Dream like this lifetime
As I ride along
Hey-ee hey-oo, hey-ee hey-oo
Dee dee-dee-dee-dee hey-ee dee
Dee dee-dee-dee-dee hey-ee dee
–Dave Stamey, “McGee Creek (The Packer’s Song)”–
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
–Acts 2:38-47 (NIV)–
Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
–Hebrews 10:24-27 (NIV)–
O how suddenly will your destruction come, unless you speedily repent! Of all places on earth, this should be the last to be chosen to live in, unless you mean to repent. I would as soon go to the very door of Hell and pitch my tent to dwell there, as to come here to live unless I purposed to serve God.
