The $15 million dollar Mark Hellinger Theatre that Wilkerson raised funds to purchase as the property for Times Square Church, was originally the place where the blasphemous gnostic Broadway play was run in 1971, called Jesus Christ Superstar. This gnostic version of Jesus was played by Jeff Fenholt, who was actually a former backup musician for the band Black Sabbath, was on heroin, and was a practicing theistic Satanist at the time of the play. He was into real devil worship at the time he was playing Jesus on Broadway. In this sermon Wilkerson says that Fenholt eventually got saved, baptized in the Holy Spirit, became a Pentecostal evangelist, and a Christian rock musician. Fenholt eventually visited Wilkerson at Times Square Church and said what is now Wilkerson’s pastor study used to be Fenholt’s dressing room where he worshipped the devil in secret! Wilkerson says all this to show that it’s absolutely necessary to preach the law, repentance from porn, drugs, and alcohol, and moral transformation; and not just present people with an easy-believism gospel of cheap grace that leaves them completely addicted to all their vices. –J.B.
