He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men…But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you. –1 Corinthians 14:3, 24-25 (NKJV)
The one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort…But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all, as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!” –1 Corinthians 14:3, 24-25 (NIV)
The one who prophesies speaks to people for edification, exhortation, and consolation…But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you. –1 Corinthians 14:3, 24-25 (NASB)
When someone prophesies, he speaks to encourage people, to build them up, and to bring them comfort…But if everyone is prophesying, and an unbeliever or one without the gift enters your meeting, he will be convicted by all that he hears and will be called to account, for the intimate secrets of his heart will be brought to light. He will be mystified and fall facedown in worship and say, “God is truly among you!” –1 Corinthians 14:3, 24-25 (Passion Translation)
The prophets should be the eyes of the people, but God has blindfolded them.

REBUKES THROUGH WORDS OF KNOWLEDGE OR PROPHETIC WORDS:
Larry Randolph, User Friendly Prophecy (Destiny Image, ), p. Only as a “last resort, not as a first response.”
Sam Storms, The Beginner’s Guide to Spiritual Gifts (Bethany House ), p. Matthew 9:1-8: “Here Jesus is described as ‘knowing’ the ‘thoughts’ of the scribes, in response to which He speaks a powerful rebuke.” Matthew 12:22-37: “Again, Jesus, ‘knowing their thoughts’ (v. 25), spoke a word of rebuke and instruction.”
Moral of the story: Destiny Image prophets are usually anti-rebuke in their theology of prophetic ministry. Jeremiah Johnson calls it the “hyper-grace prophetic movement” that “cannot rebuke” (Cleansing and Igniting the Prophetic, ch. 8). Kim Clement believed in prophetic rebukes but that they had to be delivered with love (Secrets of the Prophetic, p. 75). Bill Hamon believes in prophetic rebuke (Prophets and Personal Prophecy, ch. 5). John Eckhardt really believes in prophetic rebukes (God Still Speaks, CHARISMA HOUSE, pp. 12, 23, 28-29, 43-44, 90, 91, 93, 112, 115, 131, 143, 145, 211). And again, so does Sam Storms (Understanding Spiritual Gifts, ZONDERVAN, pp. 46, 50, 60, 82-83, 94, 101, 179). Although its true that Johnson, Clement, and Hamon believe in rebukes through prophetic ministry, as Destiny Image writers, they seemed to have been influenced by weird ideas from other Destiny Image writers, such as orphan spirit, manifest sons of God, etc. At this point, I’d stick with JOHN ECKHARDT, SAM STORMS, AND JACK DEERE as the top teachers about prophetic ministry.
